INSURANCE COVERAGE
We expect that Medicare or private medical health insurance will pay for cataract surgery, less any deductible or co-pay required. Insurance typically will not pay for services that help you reduce the need for glasses after surgery, such as presbyopia correction, astigmatism correction, or refractive surgical care.
Insurance coverage provides a substantial benefit for cataract removal and lens replacement, along with coverage for prescription glasses after surgery. They cover both physician and facility fees for that basic care.
However, most people today desire to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses after surgery, and these services are considered elective most insurance carriers. During your Lens Evaluation visit, we’ll examine your vision goals and help guide you to cataract care that best suits your lifestyle.
PRESBYOPIA Correction Packages
If you desire a fuller range of vision without the need for glasses after cataract surgery, we offer multifocal, extended-depth-of-focus and light-adjustable lens implant options. All have benefits and drawbacks depending on how you use your vision for near, mid-range and distance tasks, so this conversation will be key during your Lens Evaluation.
